LEED v4.1 Platinum Certified 2021

LEED v4.1 Platinum Certified 2021 We are proud to announce that 150 King West has been awarded LEED Platinum Certification, the highest level of achievement. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence. LEED projects earn points by adhering to prerequisites and credits across nine measurements for building excellence from integrative design to human health to material use. Through design, construction and operations practices that improve environmental and human health, LEED-Certified buildings are helping to make the world more sustainable. Green buildings allow us to live and work more sustainably in ways you can experience – in your health, the air you breathe, the water you drink. They offer us a better quality of life while also lowering global carbon emissions, reducing electricity and water bills, and creating new green jobs. BOMA BEST Platinum Certified 2021 We are delighted to share that 150 King West is BOMA BEST Platinum Certified. All the BEST practices of sustainable building management have been met, with our score in the top threshold. This accomplishment is recognition of our environmental leadership within the commercial real estate industry and of our building’s superior operational performance. BOMA BEST was developed by the Building Owners Managers Association of Canada to recognize excellence in sustainable building operations, management and performance in commercial real estate. Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification 2021

  RICK HANSEN FOUNDATION ACCESSIBILITY CERTIFICATION 2021 150 King West is a proud recipient of the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification, a testament to our ongoing effort to embrace innovative solutions to accessibility to ensure all demographics can equitably access all spaces. Recently, we have undergone significant renovations to modernize almost all areas of the building – 150 King West includes three levels of underground parking, including a large bicycle parking area; the amenity concourse includes a modern fitness center with studios, change rooms, and steam rooms; and the concourse level includes a small retail corridor that is connected to the PATH network. These efforts along with our focus on green building practices aimed at reducing the environmental impact and setting new standards for improving energy usage and lowering our carbon footprint has contributed to receiving this certification. The Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) program works to help improve accessibility of the built environment in Canada. ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION 2021

  ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION 2021 We’re excited to announce that 150 King West has earned ENERGY STAR® certification from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)! The ENERGY STAR label represents proven, verified superior energy performance over a 12-month period. In fact, ENERGY STAR certified buildings perform in the top 25 percent of similar buildings nationwide! Thank you for being a part of our sustainability story by taking simple actions to reduce energy consumption – like turning off the lights in empty rooms, and reporting energy waste to the property management team. Here’s to another year of cutting energy waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and doing our part to protect the environment – together! NATURE’S AIR PURIFIER

GREEN WALLS

Living Walls add more than just beautiful colour and texture to our lobby environment. They provide much needed natural air purification to improve indoor air quality.

Our spectacular lobby is blooming with lush green plant life. As impressive as they look, all four 31 ft tall Living Walls are hard at work, actively using the natural strength of nature’s own purification processes. They significantly improve indoor air quality and the performance of HVAC systems. Planted with a range of fauna specifically selected to fit the environment and optimize the removal of indoor air contaminants.

Our system is essentially vertical hydroponics. Water from a basin is lifted by a pump system to the top, and flows back through the interior of the plant wall, circulating through a closed loop.

At BentallGreenOak our foundation is service and we have been working hard to improve the environmental and social performance of the buildings we manage. This hard work has manifested into our corporate responsibility platform entitled ForeverGreen.

150 King West has made commitments to the following core components:

  • Healthy workplaces;
  • Energy efficiency and carbon emission reductions;
  • Waste diversion; and
  • Water conservation.

150 King West is furthering our ForeverGreen commitment by providing our tenants with resources to support your organization’s Green Team or tenant committee, help you build awareness, and identify priority projects in order to make your workplace a clean, green and more enjoyable space to work.

Destination ForeverGreen has been a wonderful journey, but unfortunately the platform expired on January 31, 2017.

That being said, BentallGreenOak’s ForeverGreen program and commitment to sustainability will continue to evolve and we will continue to encourage each of you to join us along the way. Embedding sustainability into our corporate culture and building operations remains a key priority for BentallGreenOak.
